How to Claim Your Business Listing on Yolist: Step-by-Step Guide

Yolist Editorial TeamPublished

Claiming your business listing on Yolist gives you full control over how your business appears to millions of people searching for UK services. The process takes under ten minutes and is completely free.

Step 1 — Search for your business

Visit yolist.uk/businesses and search by your business name and postcode. Yolist pre-populates listings from Companies House and Royal Mail data, so there is a good chance your business already exists in the directory. If you cannot find it, you can add a new listing from the same page.

Step 2 — Click "Claim this business"

On the business profile page you will see a "Claim this business" button in the right-hand panel. Click it and you will be prompted to sign in or create a free Yolist account. The account takes about 60 seconds to set up.

Step 3 — Verify ownership

Yolist offers two verification methods. The quickest is email domain match: if your email address shares the same domain as your business website (for example, you@yourbusiness.co.uk), ownership is confirmed automatically. The second method is Companies House auto-verify: Yolist checks the registered officer details against the Companies House API and verifies businesses incorporated in England and Wales within minutes. If neither method applies — for example for sole traders without a domain — you can request a postcard verification, which arrives within five working days.

Step 4 — Your dashboard unlocks

Once verified, your Yolist Business Dashboard activates. You can now edit every detail on your profile: business name, address, phone, website, opening hours, photos, logo, social media links, and your business description. You can also respond publicly to customer reviews and flag inaccurate reviews for moderation.

Tip: Complete all 15 profile fields to rank higher in local search — Yolist's algorithm rewards completeness. Businesses with fully completed profiles appear in 3× more search results than those with partial profiles.

Step 5 — What Premium adds

The free claimed listing covers all the essentials. Upgrading to Yolist Premium unlocks: a detailed analytics dashboard showing profile views, click-throughs and review trends over time; a lead inbox where customers can message you directly through Yolist; featured placement at the top of category search results in your area; and a Verified Premium badge that increases consumer trust. Premium starts from £19/month and can be cancelled at any time from your dashboard.

Claiming is the first step — but consistent profile management is what keeps your listing performing month after month.
