Frequently Asked Questions

What are Etsy's fees for UK sellers in 2025?

Etsy charges UK sellers: a $0.20 (≈£0.17) listing fee per item; a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping; Etsy Payments processing of 4% + £0.20; and 20% UK VAT on all Etsy fees. If a buyer found your item via an Etsy-placed Offsite Ad on Google or social media, an additional 12% (or 15% if optional) Offsite Ads fee applies to that sale.

What is the Etsy Offsite Ads fee?

If a buyer finds your listing via an ad that Etsy placed on Google Shopping, Facebook, Instagram or other platforms, Etsy charges an Offsite Ads fee on the resulting sale. For sellers with over $10,000/year in Etsy revenue, participation is mandatory and the fee is 12% of the order value. For smaller sellers, participation is optional — if you opt in, the fee is 15%. The fee applies to the total order value including shipping.

Does Etsy charge VAT on its fees to UK sellers?

Yes — Etsy adds 20% UK VAT on top of its listing fees, transaction fees and payment processing fees for UK-based sellers. This is because Etsy is considered to be supplying these services to UK businesses, and UK VAT applies. VAT-registered sellers can reclaim the VAT on their quarterly VAT return. Sellers below the £90,000 VAT registration threshold cannot reclaim the VAT and should factor it into their pricing.
